Cleveland Crops Summer Tartines

These easy-to-make French-style, open-face sandwiches are a satisfying way to enjoy summer produce at peak of freshness.

  • 2 slices artisan bread, toasted
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Plum or slicer tomatoes, thin sliced
  • Fresh opal basil leaves, chopped fine
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • Local honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Layer 1 slice of toast with ricotta, sliced tomatoes, basil, a drizzle of balsamic. Layer the other with ricotta, then top with cherries, basil, and a drizzle of honey.
