Go Herbal this Summer with Spice Kitchen

Whether you have a green thumb or not, we suggest these tips for maintaining your herb garden:

  • Prune early and often. If you want herbs (especially herbaceous/leafy ones) to keep growing, cut off flowering tips about 1/3 inch from an “artery” so that the herbs will keep growing.
  • Pick and grow wisely. For example, mint is invasive, spreads easily and will rarely die. Be careful where you plant it!
  • Most herbs need a lot of soil. The bigger the pots, the deeper the roots can grow and the sturdier of a plant it will be.
