If you’re thinking of getting started, Reed suggests starting with what you find at your favorite farmers’ market and making yourself something seasonal. One of her favorite summer recipes is a cold tomato juice cocktail, which beats anything you will find in a can!
- 3 large tomatoes
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 carrot
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1/4 lemon or lime
- Red, green, or jalapeño pepper to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
Always use organic, washed produce, from a source you trust. Combine all ingredients in your juicer and enjoy.
