Mascara and Liquid Eyeliner

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure aloe vera gel (do not use the kind made for sunburns)
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosewater
  • 3 drops vitamin E oil
  • 1 drop rosemary essential Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon raw unfiltered Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon bentonite clay
  • 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 3 capsules activated charcoal powder

In a non-metal mixing bowl combine aloe vera gel, rosewater, vitamin E oil, rosemary essential oil, and honey and mix thoroughly with a non-metal spoon or spatula. Add bentonite clay and stir until completely dissolved. The clay will clump at first, but will blend with the mixture after a few seconds of vigorous stirring. Next, stir in the cocoa powder and activated charcoal powder.

Using an oral syringe, transfer the contents into a clear mascara tube. Apply as usual, and allow 30 seconds between applications. Have an eyelash comb handy in case of clumping. This recipe can also be used as eyeliner by storing in a small airtight container and applying with a small angled brush. This may require a couple of applications.

Because this recipe contains aloe vera gel and rosewater, it will need to be stored in a refrigerator between uses and the wand/ brush should be thoroughly washed before returning to the tube to avoid bacteria or mold. If stored correctly the product will keep for up to two weeks.
