Luna baker Caitlin Shea whips up a batch of lavender macaroons. The bakery offers three or four flavors each day, but has an endless numbers of flavors in rotation including pistachio, strawberry rhubarb, salted caramel, chocolate, chocolate orange, raspberry, mint chocolate, white chocolate and lemon curd. “We are always trying to come up with new flavors,” she says.
“Sweets remind me of my grandmother when she used to bake,” says Billy Delfs, who captured the baking process from start to delicious finish.
Pastry chef Courtney Bonning opened Bonbon Pastry & Café following her win on the third season of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars” last year. A whisk and cocoa are her weapons of choice.
